Swimming lessons take place in the serene 20m indoor pool and the luxury changing rooms provide plenty of space for changing and showering. There is also a club lounge overlooking the pool where you can relax with a coffee. We offer both child and adult swimming lessons at this venue.

Swimming is a life skill that everyone should have, and it has been one of my passions since my childhood in Italy. As a kid I’ve always enjoyed swimming in the lakes near my home, or in the sea during my summer holidays in the South of Tuscany. 

After arriving in the UK in September 2003, I went to North Devon to complete my beach and pool lifeguard qualifications.  Then I immediately began working in various swimming pools as a lifeguard in London. Once I had achieved my Level 2 certificate in 2005, I started teaching as a swimming instructor, gaining a wealth of experience over the years working with swimmers of every age and level.  I am comfortable teaching one-on-one lessons, groups and schools, or coaching at a swimming club. 

Watching my students progress is extremely rewarding for me and I always strive to help them reach their highest potential.

I’ve spent most of my life in and around water and as a result, swimming has become a very important part of my life since childhood. In addition to swimming, I enjoy scuba diving and sailing, fully embracing the life aquatic!

I inherited my passion for swimming from my father who was a successful competitive swimmer. Following in his footsteps, I too was a competitive swimmer and also a life guard in my teens. Later, I completed my studies in the Academy of Physical Education obtaining a Master’s Degree together with full swimming coach qualifications. Since then I have pursued a career in the field of swimming teaching and coaching.

In every lesson, I strive to ensure that my pupils make fast progress, tailored to their ability and development, in friendly and relaxed surroundings.

My approach is not only to teach swimming, but also to promote lifelong participation in water-based activities for all ages and abilities, hopefully engendering a love of the water to match my own.

I have wanted to teach swimming for as long as I can remember. After my education I focused on swimming as a career and I have worked in large high profile health and leisure clubs since 2004, gathering a wealth of teaching experience and full swimming qualifications.

I particularly enjoy teaching young children; for me there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a child’s confidence blossom in the water when they realise for the first time that they are swimming unaided. Once they have the confidence and basic buoyancy skills, I relish the challenge of coaching stroke technique and style, transforming children into skilled, strong and safe swimmers.

Since I was12 years old, I have immersed myself in sports such as swimming, mountain biking, running, climbing and canyoning. This passion for sport led me to move from France to London in 2004 to pursue a career as a swimming instructor, gaining my ASA qualifications in 2006 (Level 1), 2009 (Level 2), 2010 (Personal training), 2011 (Races in UK Triathlon).

Since 2006, I have worked as a swimming teacher and site coordinator. I have taught all ages with different abilities. I also taught my own boys who now swim like fishes! It always feels wonderful to pass onto another human being this critical skill for life! I particularly enjoy teaching beginners; for me there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing someone’s confidence blossom in the water when they realise for the first time that they become one element together. Once they have the confidence and basic buoyancy skills, I relish the challenge of coaching stroke technique and style, transforming individuals into skilled, strong and safe swimmers.

Never happy to rest on my laurels, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my skill set and service that will provide you, my clients, with the best possible experience and results.

I started swimming lessons at a very young age and rapidly progressed through the different levels. From swimming lessons, I moved onto my local swimming club where I competed in galas for 9 years. I started volunteering at my swimming club when I turned 16 years old. I taught the younger children and prepared them for competitive swimming. I quickly realised that I loved teaching and swimming in equal portions, I then decided to pursue my joint passion and become a swimming teacher. I have been working as a swimming teacher for seven years now teaching both adults and children.

Watching the children progress and learn new skills is one of the most rewarding things you could ask for. Swimming is such a valuable skill to have now days and I am happy to impart my knowledge onto others. I enjoy the creative side of swim teaching and look to make lessons enjoyable, informative and fun for all ages.

I spent much of my childhood in water, be it swimming or synchronised swimming. I have swum and scuba-dived recreationally throughout my adult life, and passed the same love of water to my own family.

As a swimmer, parent and now as a qualified teacher, I believe passionately in the mental and physical wellbeing the sport provides. Inspiring and motivating the children is an essential part of my role. The confidence children gain through trying fun and challenging water activities often provides them with a strong sense of achievement, and it is incredibly rewarding for me to be involved in their success.

Hi there, I am Vilija: your bubbly, positive and creative swimming teacher.  

I run playful, interactive and structured lessons using a range of different techniques. I consider myself to be open-minded and attentive; if you have any questions, I am here to help you.  

Growing up by the water, I regularly went swimming in my local river or catching waves in the Baltic Sea.  ConsequentlyI had become a confident swimmer filled with joy of swimming outdoor. Coming from a big family, I was always surrounded by many children. Hence my swimming experience naturally progressed to teaching young children essential skills needed whilst having fun.  I deeply believe in the importance of learning to swim early in life as a survival skill and I’m proud to be part of this organization helping to teach the little ones and advanced level swimmers. 

I work with babies as young as 3 months old and teach their parents different methods on how to develop confidence and safety in the water whilst making it enjoyable for babies. I also adore being a part of their swimming journey with toddlers. It is rewarding to support them when they make their first step as an independent swimmer.  Working with advanced swimmers is challenging but fulfillingI focus on correcting their techniques and explain the approach to improve their performance and achieve their swimming goals. 

I feel my work experience from hospitality industry and the ability to quickly adapt my approach to meet the diverse needs of children makes me an engaging swimming instructor whom they can enjoy learning from. 

I am super excited to meet you and your child, for an educational and fun swimming adventure.

I began swimming at my local leisure centre around the age of 2. After a few years, I joined my local swimming club, competing at district level and helping to coach young club swimmers later on. I was also the swim captain for my school.

I really enjoyed seeing people push themselves and develop, and that inspired me to become a fully qualified coach. I teach to help swimmers achieve their goals and increase their confidence, to see marked improvements in technique, stamina and speed and knowing you’re making a difference.

Swimming is a vital skill that not only teaches how to survive in water, but how to excel. It also helps to improve hand-eye coordination, train fine motor skills and increase general fitness whilst improving confidence in an unfamiliar environment. Besides, 71% of the planet’s surface is water, so it’s probably going to be useful! I try to incorporate a basic scientific understanding of swimming (forces in motion, hydrostatics, surface area and tension, water resistance and levers) from a young age as I believe this helps children to rapidly develop their confidence and skill.

I started learning to swim when I was 4 years old at my local pool. It seems that I had a natural talent for swimming, so I progressed quickly and became a successful swimmer, receiving numerous awards.

After ending my competitive swimming career, I decided to do my BSc in Physical Education and Sports Science, specialising in swimming.  I have always had an interest in water-based sports. Even as a child, I would help my younger cousins learn how to swim.  Swimming is one of the most important life skills to learn at a young age, therefore I decided to become a swimming coach to facilitate my knowledge and teach people to gain water confidence.  I have had wonderful coaches who were caring, patient and supportive when I was young – I would love all my new swimmers to have the same positive experience and I will do my best to make that happen.

It is very rewarding to help people of all ages learn a love for swimming while teaching them the skills for swimming safely.  No two days are the same when you teach swimming lessons. Each child is different, and they have unique fears and motivations. When you teach them how to swim, you get to tailor your swimming lesson to meet their individual needs. You’ll come to find that some of your students are fearless and love to jump into deep water without thinking twice while others are more cautious. Some students are easily distracted and talkative while others are timid and uncertain. Few things are more rewarding than watching your students progress and feeling proud of their accomplishments.

I started swimming lessons when I was four years old as I used to suffer from asthma. Swimming soon became a significant part of my life and I swam competitively at regional and national levels in Japan.

Such is my love of swimming that I wanted to realise my childhood dream of becoming a swimming teacher and pass that passion on. 3 years ago I gave up the desk job and became a fully qualified swimming teacher, and I have not regretted my decision once. Swimming is a fundamentally important life skill and I strongly believe that parents should make sure that their children learn to swim as early as possible. It’s a platform for so many other activities too, together with general health and fitness. For me swimming is great for my body, mind and soul – and for my students too.

Motivation is the key to learning; my approach is to praise the efforts and achievements of my students whenever possible. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch my students become confident and competent swimmers, knowing that I have made a positive contribution to their life and well-being.

I have always been a sporty person. I’ve taken part in swimming, gymnastics, tennis, and football from an early age – I had swimming lessons near my home from the age of 4. When I moved to California to study my degree in Engineering, I was on the swimming team in college for 2 years. I trained for 2 hours every day and enjoyed competing in all events, but long distance was always my strength. Through swimming, I discovered, and still practice, other water sports like surfing, scuba diving, sailing and triathlon.

I decided to become a swimming coach because of my experience as a competition swimmer and my passion for sports. Swimming coaching also gives me the opportunity to interact with people; I derive great satisfaction from helping others overcome their fear and enjoy their time swimming. I particularly enjoy interacting with children because of their spontaneity.

Having qualifications as an engineer, together with gymnastics, tennis and yoga coaching, I can see the mechanical/physical part of swimming from many angles and can use the different teaching techniques from the sports I taught to enhance lessons.

I believe strongly that children should learn to swim as it is a complete sport for the whole body and mind. Swimming is a moving meditation because you are in silence moving your whole body in harmony with your breath. Also, I believe that it brings people closer to nature; I love the fact that I am helping more people connect and respect nature through the benefits of swimming.

My passion for teaching children to love the water comes from loving water myself. I want to encourage as many children as possible to have a love for the water, to learn how to be safe and respect the water, and to become little fish!

I learnt to swim at the age of 6 and joined a swimming club when I was 9 years old. My competitive career started when I was attending a sports performance school until I was 16. I competed in many competitions across Russia and swam for the country.

After completing my ASA qualifications in 2007 at Crystal Palace I gained substantial experience working as a swimming teacher and coach, developing exercise programs for athletes to achieve skills and technique to help them perform to the best of their ability.

I strive to constantly update my knowledge with the most up-to-date and dynamic techniques. This gives my clients the best results across many different abilities. During my experience I have taught and coached swimmers who have progressed through to the top squads and gone on to compete at county and national level.

I have been swimming since I was five years old. I remember being scared of water right at the start, but my teacher was very patient, helping me step-by-step through my swimming journey. Thanks to these amazing swimming coaches, I quickly become a confident swimmer and went on to be a competitive swimmer in Brazil.   

I have travelled across different cities and countries, participating in swimming events and competitions. It was from this experience that I knew that I want to make a difference in other people’s lives, from young to old. I have a huge passion for swimming and teaching, and I dedicate my time and experience to help to teach people who want to learn to swim.    

My professional yet fun swimming classes will make swimmers feel that being in the water is one of the most important exercises for your mind, body, soul, and health in comparison to any other activities.  So, by joining my lessons, we will conquer the water together.

I have been teaching swimming lessons for 8 years in London and Grand Cayman. My teaching experience covers all levels and abilities from beginners, intermediate, advanced, right up to competitive stages as well as various disabilities.

Starting from babies aged just 8 weeks old, I have had extensive training, supported by years of experience working with unique specialised methods to encourage your baby to feel comfortable and at ease in the water. I am known for my fun, positive and engaging energy while teaching a number of skills from safety & confidence to technique development.

As an instructor, I am nurturing and patient, but stern when needed. For example, if I have beginner students, I will ease their fears and encourage them to try new tasks and have fun while learning. For my more experienced swimmers, I will push them to improve their swimming abilities so that they can reach their goals. I teach technique before speed & endurance and make sure that my students know survival skills, which I believe are crucial, before perfecting strokes so that they can be safe in the water.

I am an outgoing, passionate and focused person and believe swimming is a life skill we should all have and it is never too late to learn. I am super passionate about teaching and thrive on well structured, fun, and safe lessons. It is important for me to teach and pass on these life skills to your child as their knowledge and safety near and around the water is paramount.

One of the first activities I was introduced to as a child was swimming. I was raised on the beautiful Ligurian coastline in the north of Italy. Swimming was as natural to me as walking or running growing up. I am the oldest of four sisters and a brother and we spent all our time in the sea. The Mediterranean became our playground.

I have always been extremely sporty and active, pushing myself mentally and physically. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that teaching swimming offers instilling confidence, and self belief in the children and adults I coach. I believe that swimming is a life skill that every individual should learn.

Swimming has been very close to my heart from the young age.  I started out with school swimming receiving all the distance badges and later joined a local swimming club to go on to compete at a country level.

At this swim club, I started doing a voluntary work to teach young swimmers. I really enjoyed watching my swimmers progress, so it seemed natural to become a swimming coach.

I have been teaching swimming to parents & babies, toddlers, children and adults of all levels for the last 20 years. I still love seeing my students build water confidence, learn water safety and improve their skills. I believe all children should learn to swim as it is an important life skill.

My teaching approach is friendly, fun but professional with integrity. I ensure that my lessons are creative and also inspiring, so that students enjoy the swimming whist learning at the same time

I was involved with swimming since I was a young boy. I was a keen swimmer as well as water polo player whilst growing up.

I decided to become a swimming coach when I realised that I could give my knowledge from years of swimming to help other people learn how to swim. My aim is to be a coach who inspires students to be critical and creative thinkers, as well as life-long learners.

Learning to swim is an extremely important life skill for all children to be safe in and around the water. It is important to me to give swimmers a better understanding of their movement through the water using specific drills in order to help increase their performance.

I remember clearly my first swimming coach from a local swimming club.  She used to travel to all the schools in my area looking to find young talented swimmers.  The majority of children who were hand-picked by this coach had given up after a while as they had realised that the competitive swimming is not a walk in a park!  But a small number of my friends and I decided to stick with it. I did not mind the gruelling training sessions at all – in fact, the buzz I used to feel after swimming was almost additive.

I have decided to become a swimming coach because I have been there myself as a young child learning how to swim. I have the good understanding of their learning process such as their fear of water and where they might struggle.  I know how to make it easy and fun for them.

In my view, learning to swim is absolutely essential for children.  It is an important life-saving skill and health benefits of swimming are countless.  I strive to inspire children with swimming and beyond, so that some of my students may remember me forever.
