It all began when I was 5 and Otylia Jedrzejczak won her gold medal in the 200 meters Butterfly during the Olympic Games in Athens. Her race inspired me so much that I decided I wanted to swim and participate in competitions as well. Also, my parents wanted me to be able to swim to feel more confident in the water whilst on holiday. I was signed up for my first classes. The idea of being a swimming teacher was born when I knew I want to study in London. A friend of mine, who already is a swimming teacher in London, told me that teaching children how to swim is an amazing job for someone with a competitive swimming background as some of them might choose to be a competitive swimmer and gain as much from it as I did.

Swimming is one of the most fundamental things that people should be able to do. Many parents are not aware just how important swimming is for their children. For example, lack of swimming ability might, at worst, cost a life during holidays or at the very least, at lot of stress for the parents!

I pay attention to the details in swimming, as I am fully aware how important details are. Furthermore, I have practical knowledge about swimming which comes from my 13 years of experience and this knowledge will benefit my students’ technique and approach to swimming.

There are many things I love about being a swimming teacher. Watching children grow in confidence when they conquer new swimming skills and noticeably progress is incredibly rewarding, together with knowing that I am helping children to be fit and healthy adults in the future.

I’ve spent most of my life in and around water and as a result, swimming has become a very important part of my life since childhood. In addition to swimming, I enjoy scuba diving and sailing, fully embracing the life aquatic!

I inherited my passion for swimming from my father who was a successful competitive swimmer. Following in his footsteps, I too was a competitive swimmer and also a life guard in my teens. Later, I completed my studies in the Academy of Physical Education obtaining a Master’s Degree together with full swimming coach qualifications. Since then I have pursued a career in the field of swimming teaching and coaching.

In every lesson, I strive to ensure that my pupils make fast progress, tailored to their ability and development, in friendly and relaxed surroundings.

My approach is not only to teach swimming, but also to promote lifelong participation in water-based activities for all ages and abilities, hopefully engendering a love of the water to match my own.

I began swimming for several local clubs at the age of 3. Swimming has always been in my life which gave me the confidence and passion to work in swimming. I have also tried out other water sports such as windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing and water polo.

I started out as a lifeguard in 2013, working with swimming teachers on a weekly basis. This allowed me to pick up different teaching techniques and styles, and many different ideas.  I have been a qualified Level 2 teacher since the summer of 2015. I teach a variety of ages and abilities, each having their own achievements and future goals in swimming. I believe swimming is a life skill which everyone should have due to the importance of being able to swim for survival.

Teaching is a rewarding profession as you are helping others develop key skills. Being able to see a pupil start as a beginner and develop into a great swimmer is a positive and motivating feeling for me. I try to keep my lessons fun and appropriate for each pupil. As a teacher you need to keep an open mind as each swimmer is different, so it is important to adapt lessons around them to optimise their success.

I started learning to swim when I was 4 years old at my local pool. It seems that I had a natural talent for swimming, so I progressed quickly and became a successful swimmer, receiving numerous awards.

After ending my competitive swimming career, I decided to do my BSc in Physical Education and Sports Science, specialising in swimming.  I have always had an interest in water-based sports. Even as a child, I would help my younger cousins learn how to swim.  Swimming is one of the most important life skills to learn at a young age, therefore I decided to become a swimming coach to facilitate my knowledge and teach people to gain water confidence.  I have had wonderful coaches who were caring, patient and supportive when I was young – I would love all my new swimmers to have the same positive experience and I will do my best to make that happen.

It is very rewarding to help people of all ages learn a love for swimming while teaching them the skills for swimming safely.  No two days are the same when you teach swimming lessons. Each child is different, and they have unique fears and motivations. When you teach them how to swim, you get to tailor your swimming lesson to meet their individual needs. You’ll come to find that some of your students are fearless and love to jump into deep water without thinking twice while others are more cautious. Some students are easily distracted and talkative while others are timid and uncertain. Few things are more rewarding than watching your students progress and feeling proud of their accomplishments.

From a very early age I discovered a love for swimming and all sorts of water sports activities. Born in Transylvania, its rivers and lakes were often my playground on summer break.

I moved to Spain at the age of 18, where I found my passion for windsurfing and surfing. I undertook many different courses and programs to become a qualified instructor of windsurfing, surfing and paddle boarding.

I have also been lucky enough to travel; I have been to Norway, UK, Belgium and Canary Islands where I was able to live and experience the cultures and traditions these beautiful countries have to offer.

The arrival of my baby girl changed my perspective towards many things; it was only last year during my wife’s pregnancy that I realised I would like to work with children and teach them how to swim.

I strongly believe that swimming can be many things: a competitive sport, a worthwhile hobby, a means of self-discipline and part of a healthy lifestyle. Having gained my qualifications, I look forward to working with Sports Generation to help take your child on a journey of self-discovery.

I graduated in physical education in 2002. My experience in the area involves working in the Gym as a Exercise on Referral Instructor, Personal Trainer, teaching exercise classes such as spinning and circuit training and also of course swimmin.

I became passionate about triathlon a few years ago when I decided to participate in a charity event for Great Ormond Street Hospital.  I have been training for triathlon events ever since and taking part in the sport helps me challenge myself and keep fit.

I’m enthusiastic about teaching swimming to children and adults. I will assess everyone individually and give them clear, practical instructions and tasks, breaking it down and putting the stroke back together again.

I’m very excited to meet you and your children.
