I learnt to swim at Hampton outdoor pool as a baby with my parents and then with my family moved to Jamaica where I swam competitively on the school swim team and for a club. I loved the excitement of competitions and improving my techniques. We then moved to South Africa where I swam for a local club and on return to the UK joined the Great Whites Swim club in Hampton. It was here, with a passion to pursue a career in swimming I completed my STA courses in 2008.
As a family we then moved to St Lucia where I again swam competitively with a club culminating in being picked for the national team, thanks to my great coaches. I also coached students at a prep school and the younger club swimmers for my team on a voluntary basis.
I take real pleasure in seeing how beginners start to feel confident in the water and help more competent swimmers improve their strokes and techniques. My aim is to instil a lifelong love of swimming for fun, competition and fitness as well as friendship whilst keeping them all safe. I recently lived in Malta where I worked as a lifeguard for the Malta Red Cross as well as club coaching, schools learn to swim programme and private lessons. My experience of working overseas has given me insight into a range of techniques used to teach swimming and I look to blend all my knowledge into lessons I provide.
My aim is to pass on my passion for swimming to all my students regardless of ability, age and make swimming fun, enjoyable and a skill for life.

I’m a sports fanatic, having played basketball for my country for 6 years, competed in athletics throughout my college years, and as I grew up on an island, swimming since the get-go. I have been a swimming coach and Personal Trainer since I graduated from my Sports Science degree (Bsc Hons) in 2013.
I’m an energetic swimming teacher, adept at customising swimming lessons for all ages, and passionate about getting students to appreciate all aspects of safe swimming and developing winning swimming teams. Most importantly I absolutely love working with children and watching them develop throughout the classes, whilst they have fun too!

I have always loved the water and swimming. I have had Asthma since the age of 6 and would be off school for weeks at a time. When I reached secondary school, swimming helped me to build up my strength and stamina and become fit and well. I have refined my technique swimming with Teddington Masters swim squad. I have since taken part in several 5k Swimathon for charity and the Dart 10k river swim along with lake and sea swim events.
I decided to become a swimming coach in 2006 and after having my first child I left my Marketing work and dived into a swim coaching career. I wanted to share my passion for swimming and teach a key life skill that may one day save a life. My aim is always to teach children and young people in a way that will instil a love of swimming they are keen to return to throughout their lives. Swimming is an excellent sport that everyone can enjoy, I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to teach it. I believe children should learn to swim to increase confidence and develop coping skills for the future, keeping them well in mind and body. Swimming can be something a child can excel at away from academic studies and this can really help improve self-esteem and self-belief. My teaching style is compassionate and friendly, building confidence and empowering swimmers to challenge themselves to be the best they can and enjoy themselves!
