When I was a baby, I hated the water and would refuse to spend time in the water. But as I got older and learnt how to swim, I developed a love for swimming and swam competitively until I was 16 years old.
I decided to become a swimming teacher when I turned 16 and wanted to get a job. I wanted to do a job that would be fulfilling and be able incorporate one of my favourite hobbies. I love seeing my swimmers improve and gain confidence in the water.
I believe all children should learn to swim because it is a life skill and being able to swim at a proficient level can help them get out of dangerous situations and help others as well.
When it comes to my teaching, I am not afraid to change the plan I have for the lesson to tailor specially to a student’s needs. I believe every child is different and will need slightly different lessons to learn properly.
