COACH DENI
Like most children, I started swimming at a young age, and it quickly became my primary sport. At the age of 10, I discovered a passion for competitive swimming and began representing my swimming club in competitions. Naturally, my interest in water-related sports led me to also start playing water polo with friends from my swimming club.
After completing my degree in Physical Education at university, my first job placement was at my local swimming pool, where I worked as a lifeguard and swimming teacher. It was here that I discovered my passion for teaching swimming to both kids and adults, accumulating over 10 years of experience in sports teaching.
As a technical coach, I emphasise proper stroke mechanics, body position, breathing techniques, and other fundamental aspects of swimming technique. I often incorporate drills to help swimmers refine their strokes and improve efficiency in the water.
I love being a swimming coach because it allows me to make a tangible difference in people’s lives by teaching them a valuable life skill. By imparting swimming skills and water safety knowledge, I empower individuals to enjoy the water safely, potentially preventing drowning accidents and promoting lifelong fitness and recreation. Witnessing my students’ progress and develop their skills is incredibly rewarding.
Swimming is a crucial life skill that children can carry into adulthood, providing opportunities for recreation, exercise, and socialization. Learning to swim at a young age establishes a foundation for a lifetime of water-related activities, from beach outings to participating in water sports, promoting better health through staying active. s
