COACH DAN
Sport has been an all-consuming part of my life. I attended a school specialising in sport and continued my studies at university where I gained a Master’s degree in Sports Education. From an early age I played ice-hockey competitively, and later on I competed at professional level.
During my time at university, I developed a passion for swimming, where I gained my first experience of teaching swimming lessons. After obtaining my ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification, I have been teaching in London since 2008, building a considerable wealth of knowledge and experience. I teach all age groups, from babies to adults. As each level requires a different set of skills, I carefully implement my experience and knowledge into the lesson, whether it is building water confidence in a toddler, improving swimming technique for a school swimmer, or preparing an adult for a triathlon.
Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers are very important skills for swimming teachers. However, for me, most important of all is to create enjoyable, engaging swimming lessons, with happy smiling faces on every child, bringing out the best in each and every one.
