I was always sporty as a child and loved sailing, so it was important for me to learn how to swim at an early age. After receiving my BA (Hon) in Sports Science from university, I became a full time PE teacher and swimming instructor. This was fulfilling to me, as physical activity is a core to building a healthy lifestyle.
I believe children need to learn to swim as it is a fundamental skill that all of us should have. In fact, everyone benefits from learning to swim, regardless of their age.
With SEN children, I love seeing smiles on their faces when they see the improvement, let themselves go and feel free.I truly enjoy seeing the growth in a person’s stamina as they push their boundaries. I have been using the Shaw method of coaching for a long time now and I think it really helps with good body alignment.
