SG Adult Swimming Lessons
The great enduring myth is that new skills cannot be learnt in later life. But we believe it is never too late to start. At Roko Health Club in Chiswick, Sports Generation also teaches big kids – otherwise known as adults!
All it takes to learn to swim, or to acquire a new stroke, is quality instruction, commitment and practice. Sports Generation teachers can help you to realise your potential through fun and engaging sessions, regardless of whether you are a beginner, a more experienced swimmer or a triathlete.
Swimming is an activity that improves all-round fitness and enhances stamina, strength and flexibility. Unlike other activities, this is achieved all at the same time. If performed properly, with good technique, an adult swimmer will benefit from cardiovascular improvement and muscle strength.
If you are training or participating in another sport, swimming is hugely beneficial in the dispersal of lactic acid in the muscles and considerably improves muscle condition. Swimming also helps you to relax and improves your quality of sleep.
At Sports Generation we teach adults to learn to swim from scratch, to learn a new stroke, and/or to improve overall swimming ability. Adults should consider the benefits of being able to perform backstroke, breastroke and freestyle correctly, where the entire main muscle groups – abdominals, biceps, triceps, gluteals, hamstrings, and quadriceps – are engaged. A whole range of people can benefit from being able to swim properly, even with minimal restrictions caused by arthritis, pregnancy, weight issues and asthma. Swimming also does not discriminate on the grounds of age.
